Stress Thallium

Thallium stress test also called cardiac stress or nuclear stress test is an imaging test used to check the blood flow into the heart during rest or at exercise. The test uses radiostopes thallium & camera to scan the activity of heart. The test can show the size of heart chambers, pumping activity of heart & structure of heart muscle. You physician may order this test if you have difficulty in breathing during exercise, chest pain, a previous heart attack, to check how medications are working & to check progress of exercise. This test includes an exercise and resting portion both.
